BEWARE/jet by john eshaya

I recently decided that it was time to clean out my tee shirt collection.  I knew that this would be a bittersweet process, as I would be reunited with some forgotten goodies and reminded of some shameful choices (and there were many).  One of the highlights of this project was finding some of my JET by John Eshaya tees that I purchased years ago from Nordstrom.  I found so many good ones!  Including this wonderful skull tee that has little stud detailing around the armholes.

Look forward to seeing many more of these tees in upcoming posts.

BEHIND THE SCENES/dior extreme gladiator sandals (again)

I wanted to do a behind the scenes of the previous post.  Mainly because I wanted you to see how absolutely amazing the skirt of the dress is.  So much drama!

Also, the Lullaby of Dreamland post was the first time you have seen my beloved teacup poodle, Valentino.  He is a natural in front of the camera, but that's not to say that he doesn't get nervous before a big shoot.  Here he is getting ready for his big debut.

LULLABY OF DREAMLAND/dior extreme gladiator sandals

This is a dreamy dress that I purchased from an estate sale for a dollar.  Yes...this is a true story.   The moral of the story is that you should never ignore local estate sales.  I have found some of my most favorite pieces at estate sales and sometimes even garage sales.

This dress is a visual treat.  And while I have yet to wear this dress in public, it has still brought me much delight.  After I purchased this dress, I decided that it was necessary to hang it right out in the open so that I can always enjoy its beauty.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cheers!

TIE IT WITH A BOW/christian siriano for payless anna cutout wedge bootie

Love this dress.  It reminds me of a little cotton kimono.  A wrap dress like this has many possibilities; tie a bow in front, tie it in the back, tie to the side or wrap and tuck the ends.  I tend to gravitate towards tying a giant bow in front for a little bit of extra drama.  Some people hate bows, but I tend to crave them on a regular basis.  Giant bow bustle?  Yes, please!  Massive bow barrette???  Sign me up!

There really isn't a bow big enough to intimidate me...the bigger the better and more is more.

NIGHT STALKERS/chloe sevigny for opening ceremony pearl heels

In the midst of shopping for fall shoes, I happened to stumble upon these beauties.  I was quick to transact (always a good sign) and once they arrived, I realized just how gorgeous these shoes truly are.  Sure, I should be thinking of boots and closed-toe heels, but I couldn't resist.  I mean, I am not opposed to the idea of wearing an open-toed shoe with tights...I know that some people believe this to be a major fashion no-no, but I have to say that I strongly disagree.  Sandals can surely see the light of day and still be fabulous during the cooler months with the addition of a short sock or a textured tight.

These shoes will definitely be escorting me into cooler months ahead.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL/t by alexander wang ruched jersey miniskirt

Trying to spend as much time as possible with my open-toed shoes before the weather turns cold.  I can't believe that summer is almost over!  I am not as excited about F/W shoes in general, but this year I am really wondering what to buy.  Yes, I love the F/W 2012 shoes from Celine, Prada, Miu Miu and Phillip Lim, but do I need them?  I am not fully inspired to transact yet.  I think it's just my Denver mentality coming out...I know that my shoes take a beating every winter and the idea of subjecting such beauties to such a brutal environment just breaks my heart.

BLOSSOM/prada black snakeskin bow platform sandals

Jerrmaner and I decided to check out the Denver Botanic Gardens.  I, of course, wanted to wear something floral and decided upon this amazing Boutique U&I duster that I purchased in Montreal.

It started to rain as soon as we arrived at the gardens.  Kind of made for a cool vibe while shooting pics.  I actually love the rain and despise umbrellas...I figure that I am completely waterproof, but I don't have the same nonchalant attitude towards the umbrella.  Have you ever noticed how careless people are with umbrellas?  One of my ultimate fears is to be stabbed in the eye with the little tips of the umbrella during a rainstorm...umbrellas turn into weapons when absent-minded people are added to the equation.

BUNNY/maison michel knitted rabbit ears

Buying these rabbit ears was as necessary as buying the Prada car shoes.  Why?  Because both are like buying a piece of fashion history.

GOLDEN CHILD/adidas originals x opening ceremony peplum short-sleeve tee

I purchased this jacket from the Patricia Field store in New York.  Patricia Field is my ultimate role model, so you can imagine my reaction when I walked into the store and saw her standing there at the counter.  Of course I said something brilliant...with an awestruck "hi" spilling out of my mouth.  These types of moments never go as planned, but I can't complain because I found this rad jacket while I was there.

Also while in New York, Jerrmaner and I popped into the Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony pop-up store in Soho.  There were many swoon-worthy items in the store, but I opted for this little spandex number.  Pretty cool idea to have a shop filled with sport-inspired fashion, which was just in time for Olympic fever.

POLAR BEAR MAGIC/leah reena goren for anthropologie

Polar bear magic taking place on this dress.  Love a quirky textile design that makes everyone in its path smile.  The print was taken from the illustrations of Leah Reena Goren (yes, that link works, so try it out).  The textile designs of Goren have me absolutely excited and thirsting for more.  I can't wait to add more of these quirky little creatures to my collection.

A special dress like this requires a very special pair of shoes...therefore, enter the Miu Miu glitter booties.  Ta-da!!
