MAGICAL UNICORN/h&m unicorn top

I became obsessed with the idea of adding more unicorns to my life a few weeks ago after seeing a salt at Hazel & Dewey called Magic Unicorn Sea Salt.  I did not purchase this salt, but I often like to dream of it.  I like to believe that the grains of salt are colors of the rainbow and that everywhere it is sprinkled, magic is spread.

In the midst of daydreaming, I have acquired some unicorns of my own.  The first purchase being this top.  What could be more magically divine than leaping horses and unicorns in an array of colors?!  I was quickly enchanted by this top.  Plus...that little pink cutie in front had me at "hello."

A TASTE OF SPRING/katie by katie gallagher katie legging

I'm so craving spring right now.  It's been warm the past few days in Denver, so I decided to create my own spring by wearing this floral kimono that I purchased in LA.

Also wearing my new Katie By Katie Gallagher leggings.  I am so in love with these!  I have been following Katie Gallagher for a while now and I just love everything that she does.  I find myself constantly impressed with her pattern making...she is just on another level!  If you haven't looked at the pictures from her shows then you must do so immediately!  It would be an absolute dream come true to attend one of her shows and get a close-up view of the clothing, the hair, the make-up and even the nails.

I was super excited when I saw that Katie Gallagher had an affordable line of clothing selling online...and I knew that a transaction was inevitable.  So what did I buy?  These perfect leggings with a visible seam...so perfect, I could almost cry.

ODDITIES & FAIRYTALES/my house by day

More pictures of my house.  I have been way into nesting these days.  And so, I've been buying lots of new goodies for the home.

Most recently, I became obsessed with some acrylic spoons from France (see top picture).  Anyone who knows me knows that I have no business buying spoons, as I am not at one with the kitchen; however, these spoons were too divine to pass up and I knew that they would make for a wonderful visual display.

CALCULATED CLUTTER/my house by night

Well, here it is....pictures of my house at night.  I like fake lighting, disturbing art and quirky critters.  I consider myself to be a "collector" but Jerrmaner often refers to me as a "hoarder."  He just doesn't understand me.  He thinks that everyone has to have the same minimalist, masculine and modern style that he has.  I prefer to cover my surroundings with things that I love....lots of things that always put a smile on my face.

Jerrmaner also makes fun of me because I never buy furniture.  Most of my furniture is from my childhood and the rest of it was just donated to me by my family.  I am not the most domestic person in the world, but I do make the most of what I have.  And I love all of the cool stuff/art that I have purchased to go in it.

P.S. I use my refrigerator as my mood board.  It is covered from top to bottom with all that inspires me; fashion shots, family photos and lots of art.

PRIVATE/zara high cut wedge boot

Love these boots.  I know you've seen them before, but they are too good to only show once...or twice.  They add a touch of chic to just about any ensemble.

LUCKY NUMBER 13/margiela for h&m flat jacket

We had a lucky break this weekend...we went back to H&M and scored several Margiela pieces for $5-$20 a piece...I'm serious...I would not joke about something like this.  It was truly a New Year's miracle!

So...I purchased the flat jacket.  I like it, but I wish it was a size smaller.  I'm not going to complain though because it was $20.  Also, I was able to wear it over this vintage Mickey sweatshirt that I also found this weekend.  I was so excited when I found my childhood Mickey Mouse sweatshirt at my mom's house this weekend.  But I couldn't just wear it sweatshirt style...had to be worn with massive rhinestone earrings and a fancy corsage.

KEEP IT COZY/pajamas as street wear

During the winter months, I just want to be cozy.  It's cold, it's dry and I really just feel like I could spend most days in bed; therefore, it is not unusual for me to keep it casual during the winter months.  It's times like these that I crave the sleepwear-as-street wear trend...and whether the trend is on its way out or not, I decided to pull out my leopard pajama bottoms again.  But this time I opted to mix with other separates rather than wearing head to toe pajamas.  It's all about mixing it up in 2013.

2019/clear pvc raincoat

I was super excited when Jerrmaner suggested doing a Blade Runner inspired post using his new light-up umbrellas.  I was mainly excited because I have been itching to pull out my PVC raincoat again.  I always think of Blade Runner when I wear this coat and actually, the movie is what inspired me to buy this transparent treasure.

According to WWD, PVC raincoats will be a major trend for Spring 2013...so bring on the spring rain and wet snow because this is just the beginning of my PVC love affair.

BY REQUEST/diy jil sander veiled beanie

Many people have asked me to post more pictures of my DIY Jil Sander veiled beanie.  The last picture I posted really showed only the veil...so I bring you this post which shows the top of this DIY gem.  I love this hat so much.  I feel like it goes with everything; dress it up or dress it down, this beauty will never fail you.  It's almost kind of like one of those friends that you can always count on.

I'm wearing my hat with my Marc Jacobs for Neiman Marcus for Target clutch...phew!  It just says Marc Jacobs on the front, so let's just keep it at that.

P.S.  The last time I checked, this Marc Jacobs clutch was 70% off at Target.

P.S.S. Feel free to email me if you have any issues making your very own Jil Sander veiled beanie.

DIVINE DUVET/margiela for h&m duvet coat

Well...here it is...my duvet coat from H&M.  This was not a "love at first sight" scenario, but after a few weeks of knowing that this item was living at the Cherry Creek mall getting no attention, I knew I had to go and make it my own.  Do I regret it?  Not at all.  Because it took a while for me to become fond of it, I believe that this is more than just a fleeting romance.

I am wearing my coat with the cover on.  And yes, just like a regular duvet,  it was a two man job putting the cover on this coat.  Jerrmaner and I had to team up in a wide open space to make this happen, but the result is quite exquisite...in fact, I had not yet seen this coat photographed with the cover on.
