CONSERVATION OF NATURE/prada lug sole zip sandals

I apologize for the blogging hiatus.  After our trip to Japan, I just never snapped back into the swing of things.  But...I'm back now to show off these new beauties.

I was so excited for Thanksgiving...not because of the holiday, but because of all the sales that follow.  I had a Black Friday checklist and lucky for me, I was able to get everything on it.  Here's the first pair from my checklist...stay tuned for the others.

P.S. I purchased these tights in Kyoto.  They are too cute!  They even say "Conservation of nature" on them, which was a cute little detail that I noticed after I purchased them.  I'm not usually one for white tights, as they usually make me feel like I'm 5 again, but these are specially adorned with rabbits, deer and sheep so I don't feel so bad.

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT/brian atwood neiman marcus + target beaded round sunglasses

We took these pics weeks ago and I had no intention of posting them.  However, after revisiting these pictures, they kind of started to grow on me.

I am doing what I do best in these pictures.  I am turning a long skirt into a mini dress...something I do quite often.  I just prefer myself in minis and that is mainly because I am so short.  I have to say that this Ashley O'Rourke skirt has been a dress more often than a skirt, but I still consider it to be one of my best buys of all time.

CUFFED/ear cuffs

The weather has really been pissing me off lately.  It seriously will not stop snowing and there is not one bud on any of the trees.  I have to admit...it has really brought me down.  So...I apologize for not writing as much or posting as often lately.

I am finally getting to the cuff post...or at least the first cuff post.  I have bought so much jewelry this season that I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed.  It is completely out of character for me to buy any jewelry...it's just never really a priority and I normally rummage around my mom's basement to find vintage goodies.  But this year, I have found myself tempted by my mom and sister's handmade jewelry, Catbird, and last but not least, the ear cuff trend.  So here are some of the ear cuffs that I have purchased thus far.  Trust me...there are many more where these came from.

MID-AFTERNOON FEVER/stuart weitzman fever pump

I've been buying Stuart Weitzman pumps for years now.  The love affair all started years ago with the "Lady" style.  I bought several colors of the "Lady" because they went with everything and they were surprisingly comfortable.  But the love affair didn't stop there...soon thereafter, I found myself lusting over the "Fever" pump (pictured above).  The "Fever" pump and I have been together for many years now.  But these pumps are starting to look a little rough and the time has come for me to invest in a new pair of black pumps.  I've searched all over the internet to find the next best thing. But after hours of online searching, I have realized that I cannot bring myself to break up with Stuart.  Therefore, new "Fever" pumps will be arriving on my doorstep any day now.

I WANT IT ALL/shopping around reykjavik

Jerrmaner and I did one day of shopping in Reykjavik and we went by ourselves.  Our traveling companions would not have had the patience nor the endurance to keep up with us on one of our shopping excursions.

I can't say that I purchased a lot in Iceland.  I found myself out priced at almost every shop we visited.  Of course, I don't mind spending the money on something if I really love it, but I found myself thinking "I can get that online" as I walked through the different shops.  Sad but true, but the entire world is at our fingertips with the Internet; which then results in less vacation shopping for me.  I think the best thing to do when you go on a vacation is to allow yourself to be inspired by what you see around town and work from that...which is exactly what I did.

The first night in Reykjavik, I saw the most adorable couple on the street.  The girl was wearing a pair of magenta velvet leggings, heels and I think a fur jacket...I cannot be entirely sure about the top portion of this ensemble because I was so fixated on the leggings.  The guy was wearing jeans, a tuxedo shirt, tuxedo jacket and a bow tie...something I saw men wearing quite a bit while in Iceland.  Nevertheless, after seeing this couple, the idea of buying a pair of velvet leggings became my mission.

I found one pair at an amazing boutique called Kassetta.  Actually, this was probably my favorite shop we visited while in Reykjavik.  Everything in there was one-of-a-kind, as the owner only buys one of each color to ensure the item's originality.  I purchased a green pair of velvet leggings, an amazing ice cream necklace and skeleton bone leggings.  Jerrmaner insisted that I not buy the green velvet leggings because he feared that I would resemble the Keebler elf.  I went out on a limb, purchased the green and I will be posting them soon.

Another shop we found was called Suzie Q.  There, I found another pair of velvet leggings but this time in black.  Be on the lookout for lots of velvet in upcoming posts.

P.S.  Some of these photos were taken in the shops in Reykjavik and some are photos of things that I purchased.  They had the most glorious home decor shops!  I got so many great decorating ideas and absolutely fell in love with Tulipop!  I would also recommend checking out Minja.

Disclaimer: There is an exception to my Internet theory.  While in Reykjavik there was a book called Dolls & Molls with works by ErrĂ³.  My assumption that this item could be found online was incorrect and now I am desperately longing for it.  If you know of the whereabouts of this item, please contact me immediately.  Thank you.

PRONE TO WANG/alexander wang cummerbund silk-crepe pants

There are two obsessions of mine that I would like to share, the first one being Alexander Wang and the second one being The Outnet.  And when the two combine pure magic takes place.  I am always waiting for the "Just In: Alexander Wang" emails to appear in my inbox and when they do, I have to strike!  Buying Alexander Wang can be quite competitive at times.  I'm surely not the only one that has Wang fever...in fact, I think it's pretty common and people refer to girls like me as "Wangettes."

Anyways...the Fall 2011 collection was recently added to The Outnet.  That was one of my favorite Wang collections to date.  Loved the streamers, metallics, fur and tuxedo-inspired detailing.  Need a refresher?  Click here.
