THE DEATH OF SUMMER/zara open ankle boot court shoe

Jerrmaner and I are headed in a new direction with the blogs.  As summer dies, so does our old style of blogging.  Stay tuned for fewer posts as we embrace the idea of less as being so much more.

Click here: SEE/homme - don't miss out...this is an amazing (wonderful, exceptional and free!) download.

BLACK SOCK REVIVAL/prada black snakeskin bow platform sandals

I borrowed these little footies for my recent trip to Portland.  They seemed like a good idea to wear with my sneakers to prevent blisters, but they didn't work out as well as I thought they would.  They would actually slip off my foot within a few steps...something about the sneaker/footie combination  just didn't work.

I decided to try them out in another way before giving up on footies forever.  This time with the thought of the Prada S/S 2009 runway show in mind.  Remember that show?  The models wore little footies with their sandals and it looked divine.  I actually have a pair of those runway sandals and I had been meaning to try the footie + sandal combo for a while now.

The result?  I love it!  It gives my sandals a completely different look.  Now I just wonder if these footies can breathe new life into some of my other sandals.  Stay tuned...

WITH SOCKS/oscar de la renta barry leather trimmed pvc sandals

I ordered these shoes in my regular size.  Based on the online reviews, I was sure that they were going to be too small.  Most reviews insisted on sizing up one full size...but when I saw that The Outnet did not have a full size larger, I decided to take a shot and order my normal size.  Luckily for me, the pink seems to run more true-to-size than the other colors.

I really wanted to wear these little cuties with socks.  I whipped out a white pair that I bought in Argentina.  The white socks are cute, but I want to get something a bit more unexpected.  I love the S/S 2012 runway show that shows these pink beauties with little neon socks.  Stay tuned for more sock experimentation.

RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE/vintage glasses necklace

Wearing a necklace that my sister made out of vintage glasses.  She makes a lot of wonderful things...from vintage earring bracelets to glow-in-the-dark terrariums.  My mom also makes jewelry out of vintage goodies and it is so fun being around when they create something new.  I have an entire jewelry collection made up of their amazing creations.  You will be seeing many more pieces soon.

Sometimes the best things are right under your nose.

SIGNS OF SPRING/alexander wang cummerbund silk-crepe pants

The sun was out today and I couldn't be happier!  I felt like one of the models from the Marc Jacobs' F/W 2013 show...feeling almost dependent on the sun.  The warmth, the light, the overall feeling of the city...it was a beautiful day here in Denver.  And I definitely needed it to conquer my wintertime blues.

Since it was warm, I decided to whip out my boudoir jacket that I purchased at the Antique Mall.  I purchased this cutie a while ago, but it has been far too cold to wear it.  It makes me think of the Alexis Mabille Spring 2013 Couture collection...so soft and feminine.  Soft, feminine and lots of pink is what I'm dreaming of for Spring.

SECRET HUNGER/spring 2013 runway shoes

Ok, I think I'm finally done.  I have finally chosen my Spring 2013 shoes.  Now the stress begins.  Sure I have taken all the necessary steps; I have called my shoe guy, tracked down their availability and even put my name on a waiting list, but I know that it is still possible to fail, even with such preparation.  Shoe buying is so competitive!  Even sharing my shoe choices with you seems like a risk, but I know that in order for us all to really become friends, we need to build some trust and share some secrets.  So...without further ado, here are my shoe picks for S/S 2013.

SCARLET/vintage red cape coat

Falling in love with the Jil Sander A/W red coat made me remember that I have something similar in my own closet.  My mom's friend gave me this piece a few years back and I don't wear it nearly as often as I should.  My mom's friend got this coat from a family friend and believe me when I tell you that it is in perfect condition...I think that maybe only a couple of buttons were loose when I go it.  Pieces such as these make it easier to beat the winter blues...something about the red color and dramatic cut have me completely smitten.  Each time I wear this beauty, I feel a constant stream of warmth in my heart.

Happy Valentine's Day.

NINE LIVES/chanel spring 2005 jeweled sandals

Well...here they are.  My resurrected shoes that took many gluing sessions to bring back to life.

I purchased these beauties in 2005 and only wore them a few times because I was worried for their safety.  Unfortunately, the last time I wore them, the jeweled piece on one of the t-straps fell off and I couldn't find it anywhere.  I was sick.  But what's a girl to do?  Just sit back and mourn the loss?  Or do something about it and find new hardware to replace the old?  I opted for option B.  And while it took many years to complete and I am without the original t-strap hardware, I cannot tell you how happy I am now that these shoes live once again.
