GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT/3.1 phillip lim ora over-the-knee boot

Fell in love with these boots the second I saw them on the Phillip Lim F/W 2013 runway.  I stalked them for months once they hit the stores and lucky for me, I was able to snag them during the holiday sales.  May I always be so patient.

CHASING AUTUMN/maison michel rabbit ears

We have been having typical autumn weather here in Denver.  It's been lovely, of course...but it has also been messing with my mood a bit.  I find that I am feeling a bit blue.  I didn't even want to take pictures today, but I thought that wearing my bunny ears could possibly improve my mood.  Well...I noticed that my Maison Michel ears are feeling a bit blue too (note the limp ear)....must just be the weather.  Everyone and everything must adjust to the new season.

DOUBLE DOSE/mismatched shoes

I loved these Choos so much that I bought them in two colors when they came out.  Works out pretty well because it's like having three pairs rather than two...I can wear the pink pair, the acid pair or, as shown above, the mismatched pair.

PLACEBO/sugarpills explosion sweatshirt

Here I am wearing my new Sugarpills sweatshirt.  Seems like I waited forever for this sweatshirt, but I think that's mainly because I just really wanted it.  It's just so good!  So happy I own one and I can't wait to own more of these.

Also whipped out my Alexander Wang Fabiana heels.  It's pretty much a miracle that I own these.  I can't tell you how long I bothered Jerrmaner about these with, "Should I buy these?"  He kept saying "no."  And then when I realized that they were gone, my heart sank.  I kept the image of them in my mind and hoped that they would appear again one day.  As you can see...they did appear again...on The Outnet.  Such an amazing site for situations such as these, but it's pretty much a great site in general.

Love my Fabiana heels and love my Sugarpills.  Cheers!!!

ROSES ARE YELLOW/mural floral sweatshirt

I bought this hair protector at a vintage shop because I fell in love with the mink fur and rhinestone detailing.  Of course everyone wondered what I was going to do with it.  My hair is normally a mess and so there is no point in protecting any part of it.  Well...I decided to wear this little cutie as a headscarf.

Wearing with my new Mural sweatshirt from Nordstrom...a story for another time.

AFTER THE STORM/vintage fur jacket

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  We had a major snowstorm in Denver last weekend and it just so happened to coincide with our shooting day for the blog.  So, we are a week behind.

Nevertheless, we are back.  But I am going to be honest with you...I am feeling less than inspired these days.  It must be Spring fever.  I just want to be in all florals and pastels, but it is too dirty here in Denver right now (as everything melts) for any such thing.

SCARLET/vintage red cape coat

Falling in love with the Jil Sander A/W red coat made me remember that I have something similar in my own closet.  My mom's friend gave me this piece a few years back and I don't wear it nearly as often as I should.  My mom's friend got this coat from a family friend and believe me when I tell you that it is in perfect condition...I think that maybe only a couple of buttons were loose when I go it.  Pieces such as these make it easier to beat the winter blues...something about the red color and dramatic cut have me completely smitten.  Each time I wear this beauty, I feel a constant stream of warmth in my heart.

Happy Valentine's Day.

WITH A CHERRY ON TOP/t by alexander wang boxer sweatpants

I was so anxious to shoot this ice cream cone necklace.  I'm always drawn to ice cream cones.  I love them on clothing, as well as in decor.  Perhaps it's because my favorite book as a child had an ice cream cone bird in it and...one of my ultimate fashion regrets was a Chanel bag with an ice cream cone print.  One good memory and one bad...this necklace is one attempt to heal the pain of the bad.

OPEN DOORWAY/modern vice capri wedge sneaker

Wearing my new Modern Vice sneakers.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, I already have this shoe, but I decided that I really needed another color.  I believe that if you really love something then you should buy it in every color that it comes in.

PRADA VS WILD/prada vernice sfumata pump

Jerrmaner and I discovered this lovely area close to our homes.  This is about as close to being in nature as I can be.  Seems crazy, I know, but something about me hanging out in the mountains seems very awkward...as in, I actually look awkward in the mountains.  This particular location is the perfect combination of city and nature; and therefore, my Prada pumps and I felt completely at home.

P.S. It's not everyday I attempt to scale rocks in heels, but these lovely shoes are like my sneakers.  They are super cozy and make walking in the summer heat a snap.

THE DARKSIDE/dolce vita hamilton buckled bootie

These photos were taken awhile ago, but I stumbled upon them and decided that they were well worth sharing. The tree photos remind me of one of my all-time favorite TV shows, Tales from the Darkside. Was anyone else a fan? Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Tales from the Crypt...oh man, they don't make quality TV shows like those anymore!

I love the Tales from the Darkside episode where the woman signs up for a foolproof diet plan. She receives a pair of glasses in the mail and when she puts them on all of her food comes to life. She ends up dying of starvation because she becomes such good friends with her food that she can't bear to eat them. Other favorites are the "The Tear Collector" and the episode with the vacuum that sucks the life out of people.

Sorry, not really a fashion related topic. But if you do get a chance to watch some of the old episodes from the Alfred Hitchcock Hour, please note the ever so glamorous, beautiful and stylish leading ladies.

CRIMSON PAST/wwii nurse cape

Super excited to have found this cape. I remember wanting one of these after seeing the movie Atonement. Not my most favorite movie ever, but it definitely had some great style moments. Yes, the green dress and yes, a cameo from a cape similar to this one looking lovely in the snow. If you can't remember these scenes, google them immediately.

As you can imagine, it was like a dream come true when I found this cape at a new vintage shop in town called Gutterpup.

The shoes were another small sensation. I didn't seem to notice them on the shelves at Nordstrom, so I have to say 'thanks' to my amazing shoe guy (and bud), Mr. Walkingstick, who pointed these shoes out to me. Once I tried them on, I was sold. They are absolutely exquisite....the heel, the color, the absolute never-ending beauty of Yves Saint Laurent.
