SIGNS OF SPRING/alexander wang cummerbund silk-crepe pants

The sun was out today and I couldn't be happier!  I felt like one of the models from the Marc Jacobs' F/W 2013 show...feeling almost dependent on the sun.  The warmth, the light, the overall feeling of the city...it was a beautiful day here in Denver.  And I definitely needed it to conquer my wintertime blues.

Since it was warm, I decided to whip out my boudoir jacket that I purchased at the Antique Mall.  I purchased this cutie a while ago, but it has been far too cold to wear it.  It makes me think of the Alexis Mabille Spring 2013 Couture collection...so soft and feminine.  Soft, feminine and lots of pink is what I'm dreaming of for Spring.

TITLE UNKNOWN/alexander wang agnete heels

When will I ever give up the mini?  This is something that probably many are wondering and sometimes I even wonder myself.  But I can safely say that it will be no time in the near future.

Wearing a mini skirt that I bought so many years ago...yep, I was digging in the archives for this post.  Even the sweater is pretty old, but I have to say that it is still one of my favorites that I own.  It has a side leather zip that still makes my heart melt to this day.

Notice the new muff.  How on earth could I pass on this cutie?!  It has a little face on it!  This muff has taken my muff expectations to a whole new level!  I mean...shouldn't all muffs have little faces?!  I found this cutie at the antique mall.  It is actually for a child, but I have fairly small hands so there was really no excuse not to buy it.

DIVINE DUVET/margiela for h&m duvet coat

Well...here it is...my duvet coat from H&M.  This was not a "love at first sight" scenario, but after a few weeks of knowing that this item was living at the Cherry Creek mall getting no attention, I knew I had to go and make it my own.  Do I regret it?  Not at all.  Because it took a while for me to become fond of it, I believe that this is more than just a fleeting romance.

I am wearing my coat with the cover on.  And yes, just like a regular duvet,  it was a two man job putting the cover on this coat.  Jerrmaner and I had to team up in a wide open space to make this happen, but the result is quite exquisite...in fact, I had not yet seen this coat photographed with the cover on.

'TIS THE SEASON/holiday sweatshirt

There's no better way to get into the holiday spirit, than to wear a festive holiday sweatshirt.  I've been itching to wear this sweatshirt for months now!

My grandma made this sweatshirt years ago and lucky for me, I inherited it from my sister.  She gave it to me with the idea that I might wear it as pajamas.  But as soon as I saw the sparkle of the glitter fabric paint, I knew that this sweatshirt needed to see the light of day.  I believe that an "ugly" holiday sweater's potential fully relies on the styling...and in this particular scenario, I think that an over sized holiday sweater makes for a lovely ensemble when styled as a mini dress.

FACELESS/margiela x h&m extended watch belt

I bought the last bit of my Margiela for H&M purchases last night.  It's hard to believe that such an amazing collection went on sale so quickly.  But I'm not complaining because I was able to get the duvet coat and this wonderful extended watch belt.

Also wearing a slip that I purchased at a craft show yesterday.  I love it!  The woman that makes them buys vintage slips and tie-dyes them.  Ummm...I think I'm in love.  I purchased a cami and this skirt slip, but I hope I run into her again so that I can purchase many more pieces.

PAPER OR PLASTIC?/maison martin margiela for h&m plastic shopping bag

When I purchased the most recent batch of my Maison Martin Margiela x H&M, the girl that checked me out informed me that she was giving me a very special bag.  She told me that if I follow the instructions at the bottom of the bag, my little plastic bag could become a tank top.  Say what?!!  What a brilliant idea!!  I started to think of all the possibilities available with any plastic bag that I get at the stores...could it be possible to design a whole wardrobe around this idea?!  Well...I wouldn't go that far, but adding a few plastic bag tops to my wardrobe isn't a bad idea.

I opted to not cut the armholes out completely and wear this plastic bag as an off-the-shoulder top.

ONE BIT/hilfiger bennington high duck boot

First of all, let's talk muff. I think that a muff is one of the great forgotten accessories...along with tiaras and sweater clips. I love a fur muff, but it is rare to see people using them. This muff is especially alluring, as it takes on double duty and seconds as a handbag. Swoon!! Love items that make fashion practical...doesn't happen often, but when it does, I'm just tickled!

I can't stick much in this bag, but I can usually fit just enough to get me through a night out.

The top two bracelets on my left arm are INRETROspect again. Told you! Once you have one, you will want many.

The second bracelet down on right arm is one of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Latin bracelets, purchased at the wonderful Bookmarc in New York.

All other bracelets are vintage.

The boots take me back to my youth. My mom used to make me wear duck boots when I was little and if they would have looked like these, I don't think I would have minded one bit. These are the Hilfiger Bennington High Duck Boot and from the moment I saw them sashay down the runway, I knew that they had to be mine. Such a refreshing twist on classic footwear...absolutely brilliant, Mr. Hilfiger!
