REWIND/t by alexander wang velvet cami maxi dress

Not always a big fan of maxi dresses, but this one was too good to pass up.  It reminds me of the 90's and that was a time that I truly loved.  I think of the 90's and I hear the Sneaker Pimps playing and get a mental image of the girls from The Craft.  It's fun to wear clothing that reminds you of your youth...it's just like traveling back in time.  I guess time travel is possible, Jerrmaner.

P.S. I purchased this dress with my gift credit for winning The Outnet's Shoe Friday contest.  Make sure to enter!

BLINDED BY TRANSPARENCY/visor

I have been desperately craving a visor and thanks to Jerrmaner, one appeared on my doorstep last week.

Think McQueen, Marc by Marc or Givenchy, but any way you slice it, the visor is one of the hottest accessories of the moment and has been seen on many of the runways.  I very much enjoyed the McQueen approach of dressing it up, so that is exactly what I did by pairing mine with an organza bubble mini.

SEEING DOUBLE/remix line tee

Digital Vacancy and I took these photos before heading to a birthday party.  I have to say that these Marc Jacobs boots have become my new favorite companion.  They go with just about anything and on this particular evening, the fact that they are water repellent came in very handy.

Did you notice that I am wearing my hair up?  Yeah, I think this is my new S/S 2012 hairdo...something perfectly easy for my current hair length.  Just tease, spray and pin...doesn't get much easier than that.  I have been boycotting hairspray for the past 10 years, so buying a bottle to create this look was kind of a surreal experience.

On another note, Digital Vacancy is talking about fantasy worlds.  I rarely leave my fantasy world.  I think that I am always mentally tucked into my little magical world...doesn't matter if I am wearing Marc Jacobs or Alexander Wang.  I create the fantasy and my shoes just make a cameo.

MOON STALKER/isabel toledo for payless lunar moon boot

A more casual look for a trip to the mall on Super Bowl Sunday. We wanted to go to the mall because we thought it would quiet since the game was on. Not the case...it was a fiasco! And so, I have decided that we can only go to the mall on Saturday nights. Don't you people watch football?!

Anyways...let's discuss the ensemble. I know you have seen these pants before (they are some of my favorites), but everything else is making its first appearance here on Dollhouse Vacancy. Can we give a round of applause for the moon boots? Yes!! Little moon booties for your viewing pleasure...bet you didn't see that coming! I love these shoes. They are again, from Payless (I'm blushing a bit while saying that). This time they are Isabel Toledo. I've always wanted a moon boot...not really, so scratch that. I should say that I've never wanted a moon boot until I saw that they came in the form of a bootie and well...until I saw these. They are adorable and yet, a bit ridiculous. I thought they would add the perfect bit of funkiness to this casual ensemble.

The vest is another favorite. This vest adds instant chic to just about anything. Rather than "just add water," think "just add vest" for instant sophisticated cool. And it does...every single time.

SNOW/sinister collection jacket

Snowed in today. Lots of indulgent behavior going on here...consumed by online sales and eating way too much.

Wearing my favorite Sinister Collection jacket. Wear it buttoned up for drama or unbuttoned for a more casual look. Love a jacket that not only offers warmth, but versatility as well. Plus, the lumberjack plaid seems to be the perfect choice to accompany my cabin fever.

Stay warm.

THE REAL DEAL/christian siriano for payless

These are some of my Christian Siriano for Payless shoes. It's hard to believe that these shoes were under $100, huh? Every time I wear these shoes, people swear they are McQueen.

Being taken seriously seems to be the major obstacle for Siriano. Sure he got his big start on Project Runway, but look at all he has done since! I've seen his rack at Saks and it is obvious that this dude is good! So let's be real, people...Siriano has proven himself to be a major player in the world of fashion. Of course he still has growing to do, but that's something that will come with time. I think that based on what Mr. Siriano has done so far; it is safe to assume that he has the staying power necessary to survive in the industry.

I just ordered the Spring Siriano shoes. Can't wait!! Trust me, I too was leery about buying shoes from Payless. But when they show up on my doorstep looking like a serious runway beauty, the choice is obvious...they must be added to my collection.

SCOUT/street style

Oh how I love the Denver Art Museum. We had the best time when we went on New Year's Day.

Clockwise from the top left: Belle by Sigerson Morrison Eskimo Clog Booties; a close-up of me; "Being Home" by Rupprecht Matthies; "Fox Games" by Sandy Skoglund; inside the Denver Art Museum.

I went pretty casual for the outing. I wore my favorite T by Alexander Wang pants and my new booties that I had just purchased on Christmas Day. I had been stalking these booties for awhile. I first saw them in the Vogue September issue and then I saw them at Barneys CO-OP in New York. I'm not sure why I was hesitant to purchase...it was like I just knew that they would someday be mine so there was no need to rush into anything.

The Thursday Friday tote was a New York purchase from Treasure & Bond. I love it! I love how it almost pokes fun of the fashion community. Like we are so obsessed with designer handbags, that yep, we'll even just take it as a graphic print on a canvas tote.

Please excuse the hair band. This band keeps me safe and it must never be removed. Feel free to label me as a "freak" now.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

DOWNTOWN/street style

When it was decided that we were going out to dinner with friends on a freezing winter's night, there was no other option but to wear my beloved fur leg warmers. The best part of these leg warmers is that they have pockets...yes, that's right...pockets! If you wanted to wear these out and go sans a bag, you totally could. Just tuck away your ID, credit card and phone in a secret compartment that is fully camouflaged by luscious fur.

On this particular evening, I did not use the pockets. I pretty much carry everything I own in my handbag, so there really isn't a pocket big enough for me.

I also wore my Gentle Fawn candle printed top that I purchased from Modcloth. The back of this top is an unexpected treat...I will post it again later and you can take a peek.
